Heimat products are manufactured by Koch & Gsell , a Swiss start-up founded in 2015. In 2017, the company hit the big time with the launch of the world's first tobacco and hemp cigarette, which caused an international sensation. In summer 2019, it was followed by Europe's first industrially manufactured pre-roll from pure hemp in cigarette form. As hemp cannot be processed like tobacco due to the resin it contains, these products represent a technical innovation. The processes used to manufacture these products have been patented by Koch & Gsell.
