    The company was founded in June 2013 to enable industrial hemp ( Cannabis sativa L. ) to become a possible reality for the agricultural, industrial and craft economy of southern Italy . South Hemp Tecno inaugurated the first primary processing plant for Southern Hemp straw, operational since the end of 2014.

    The production activity consists of transforming hemp straw collected from hemp mills into its two constituent parts: hemp (woody inner part) and technical fiber (short), which will be used for a variety of industrial applications.
